La Terrazza Caravaggio - Caravaggio Terrace is a large panoramic apartment, on the top floor of a building in a private park. On request, it is possible to rent a parking spot in the park.
It offers three double bedrooms, a large living room with a double sofa bed, and a super panoramic terrace which allows you to admire the entire area on the western side of Naples, from Posillipo to the Campi Flegrei and the islands of Procida and Ischia, as well as the Maradona stadium. A cot is available for children up to 3 years old.
Various shops and supermarkets are available just a few meters from the park gate. A taxi parking (Piazza Europa) is about 500 meters away, while the "Quattro Giornate" subway station is about two kilometres away. A car rental company (Autonetwork - via Caravaggio 244) is within walking distance (about one kilometre). Football stadium "Diego Armando Maradona" is about 2.5 kilometers away, and can be reached by public transport (bus 181).
If you love pizza, we can recommend "Pizzeria La Notizia" which is very close. It is small, does not accept reservations and often you have to wait outside for a table to be available, but we can guarantee that the pizza is one of the best you can find.
La Terrazza Caravaggio was not built as a "holiday home": it is the apartment of a family who still uses it occasionally. As a guest you will be able to use everything you find in the house, from the WiFi to the stereo system and the vinyl collection, the library and, of course, the terrace. We just ask that you respect what you use and our memories.
We don't love air conditioning, so be aware that you won't find it in the apartment. When it's hot, keep the windows open on both sides of the house and, if you want, turn on the ceiling fans installed in the bedrooms. The location of the house, on the top floor of the building, guarantees a refreshing breeze even on the hottest summer evenings.
The pictures you see on this web site were shot from the terrace. Of course, weather is unpredictable, so we cannot guarantee that you will be able to shoot a red moon, but dramatic sunsets are quite common.
We can almost guarantee that you will not see the terrace covered with snow, as it happened only once in the last 40 years.
Got work to do? No problem, there is a fast internet connection that you can use, and Wi-Fi works even on the terrace. But be prepared: nobody will believe that the background of your videoconference call is real...
The street where the apartment is located is named after Michelangelo da Caravaggio, one of the most famous painters of the baroque period. The artist lived in Naples for several years of his turbulent life between 1606 and 1610. Various works by the painter can be admired in the city, in the Capodimonte museum, in Palazzo Piacentini and at Pio Monte della Misericordia. A taxi stand is at about 500 metres from Terrazza Caravaggio (Corso Europa 84). You can call a taxi by phone or whatsapp at the numbers +39 081 8888 or +39 081 6969
You can use the app Citymapper (available for mobile devices) to navigate the public transport options
It is not difficult to find beautiful things to see in Naples, and there are many guides or publications to help you choose. Here we propose some fascinating places in the Campi Flegrei area, which are often not considered by those who visit the city.
The archaeological park of Cuma is the place where you can visit the cave of the Cuman Sibyl, a place of great charm, and immerse yourself in the history of classical culture (it is believed that Cuma was founded by the Greek people of Euboea around 750 BC).
The Astroni crater, easily visible from the apartment terrace, is the crater of an ancient extinct volcano which hosts a protected natural oasis with lakes and an incredible wealth of flora and fauna.
The "Rione Terra" district of Pozzuoli was abandoned in the 70s of the twentieth century due to bradyseism, a seismic phenomenon that endangered the ancient buildings. In recent years it has been completely restored and can bring you through a journey to the ancient Roman colony of Puteoli, which can end with a relaxing lunch in one of the many seaside restaurants of modern Pozzuoli.
"La Città della Scienza" - City of Science is an interactive science museum of great interest for young and old. It is located in the area of the Bagnoli steel plant, no longer active since the 1990s, which is still clearly visible from the apartment terrace.
Please don't smoke in the apartment. Pets are not allowed.
The building management does not allow the organization of parties in the building; only registered guests can access the apartment.
If there are small kids, don't leave them alone on the terrace. The fence is higher than usual, but it is always possible to create a dangerous situation, e.g., by climbing on a chair. Also, be aware that some of the plants may have prickles.
Several shops, restaurants and supermarkets are very close.
